Avocado and Pear Smoothie

I am a huge fruit fan...as you can probably gather already! But I am very in tue with my body, and just like there are some days I feel like grains/no grains, meat/no meat - the same applies with fruit. Some days I just feel like I need to limit my fruit, and up my veges!

So, I often have a vegetable based smoothie (don't worry fruit smoothie lovers, I bet you'll love this one too!) and this is a great way to incorporate smoothies, plus extra vegetables in your/you child's diet - particularly if you are watching sugar intake.

A vegetable based smoothie, to me, means just 1-2 pieces of fruit, and majortiy vegetables - usually 2-3 servings. So you can bascially get your recommended daily intake of fruit and veg in one hit...perfect for busy people!

To make this smoothie, blend together:

1 large pear (chopped)

2 packed cups of spinach

1/4 of an avocado

150g of chopped cucumber

Flesh of half a lemon

1 cup of filtered water

1 tsp supergreens powder (optional)

Enjoy - it will leave you feeling sparkling!
