Whilst I believe that all whole foods, fruits and vegetables (particularly organic) hold amazing, unique and individual properties and should be considered "superfoods", there are some extra special things that I would consider to be SUPER superfoods - one of them is Açaí berry products.

The 'humble' Açaí berry grows in the Amazon of South American and known to carry high levels of Vitamins, Minerals and Antioxidants! It also has an extremely high protein content, which puts in on a completely different level to other berries. If I was were going to pick 1-2 superfood powders to have in my pantry, Açaí would definitely be one of them.

I used Pure Jungle Açaí, a New Zealand brand, which is a gorgeous, freeze dried powder that has a rich, delicious yet subtle flavour, making a welcome addition to just about any fruit smoothie - even chocolate! You can get it online here!

I have used Açaí powder alongside orange, blueberries, mango and banana which is a total fruity hit - but the flavours are just so complimenting to one another - it is divine, give it a go!

Blend together:

1 orange (peeled)

1 banana (peeled)

1 cup of frozen blueberries

1/2 cup of frozen mango (optional)

1 cup of chilled water

1 heaped tbsp of Açaí

Enjoy!
