Sometimes I wake up with this thirst for a tangy, vegetable rich, green smoothie. I love my fruity smoothies with a passion, but there is honestly nothing the feeling of health after you have a super green smoothie - it's like when you eat salmon and steamed vegetables - you instantly feel healthy..he he he!

However, in saying all of that...as the old saying goes "Rome wasn't built in a day" the same goes with your health. One meal doesn't make you healthy, neither does two...or three! It's a lifestyle of health that makes you physically, mentally etc etc.

I beleive that incorporating a green smoothie in your everyday life style, is a perfect start to your healthy lifestyle journey (because it is a journey) - it's like buying new gym gear, although it doesn't instantly make you fit, it makes you feel good and motivates you to stay on that journey.

Green smoothies are such an excellent way to fit in your 5+ a day - especially for busy people, and having it at the start of you days is perfect because it means you start your day by nourishing your body with all things good. Trust me, staying on track will be so much easier when you start out the day on the right foot.

I can easily fit 3+ servings of vegetables in to a single serve green smoothie, and you can too! Nothing is off limits, but if you are just starting out on your green smoothie journey, my recommendation is to use just 1-2 subtle tasting greens along with 1-2 servings of fruits. If you are new to green smoothies, I suggest you try my Mango, Mint and Cucumber Smoothie as a starter - it's fruity, sweet and light...perfect for beginners.

If you are a regular green smoothie drinker, or feel like you need a little bit of an internal cleanse then try my Liver Tonic Smoothie - full of liver loving ingredients.
